Do you want to know what a camera sensor does or do you want to know why everyone raves about a ‘shallow depth of field?’
Do you get confused with the sheer variety of cameras available and would you like to order gear that gets used and doesn’t lie idly by because the ‘speed’ of a lens isn’t correct?
Would you like your questions answered from a cameraman who has been there and used the kit? Help is on hand!
Join Jeremy Humphries, a BBC trained DoP and MD of Skills2Film, who will provide answers and help to give an overview of the kit available out there. From Sony’s King of the Jungle the FS7 to the Z90, FS5 and the brand new Z280, Jeremy will explain and talk cameras, kit and sense!
He will use his own case studies to describe why he has chosen the kit he has on recent productions. And ultimately you will go away being able to talk the same language as your hire company, saving time, patience……. and money.
We are running two identical sessions throughout the day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon with plenty of time for you to get your hands on the kit.

Jeremy is a BBC trained Director of Photography who has been filming documentaries around the globe for over 30 years. Along the way he has shot a number of BAFTA nominated series and won an International Best Cinematography award. He has filmed amazing stories on diverse subjects - child victims of the Angolan civil war, Nelson Mandela campaigning for black farmers' rights in South Africa, the meeting of the last British and German veterans of the First World War and prize winning chrysanthemum growers for Gardeners’ World!
Jeremy is a Sony Independent Certified Expert. He has a passion for using the camera to tell stories – and train others to do the same.
His company Skills2Film provides camera craft training to clients ranging from the castaways on the Bear Grylls, The Island series for Channel 4, to the BBC, Sony and numerous independent production companies. Corporate business clients include The Financial Times, GSK and Russell Investments.
